the illustration Friday topic for this week is mermaid. so i chose to do a galaxy mermaid on an edited cloud image in the background. yesterday i learned how to place an image into a silhouette. so i used that skill for my illustration Friday piece. i originally pasted am mermaid silhouette and filled it with galaxy. i then cut and pasted black and white clouds and adjusted the brightness and contrast and a lot of other color features so that it would have a more gray effect and complement the tones in the silhoutte..
this is my influence map.I chose the following pictures above because they inspire, create, and are a part of me in some way. Most of those artists have had a influence on me through music. Such as Meghan Trainor, Amy Winehouse, Fergie, Gwen Stefani. i have added some of my favorite movies that inspire me to create art worth looking at, such as how a movie needs to be good so that people will watch it, same with my art.
I chose to do this Frankenstein piece because i really like the day of the dead theme. and this image had very bright and illuminating colors, so i had a plan to match its outside decoration as white mandalas. i think that the flowers on the crown blend well with the darkness and lightness of the piece.
